One more startup who participated in Scale up Champions Programmes is TechNovator. Behind the success of this company is a well bonded and mature team who is dedicated to a lifetime discovery of absolutely new wireless charging technology using quantum physics rules.
Ruslana Dovzhyk, Co-founder of TechNovator says that wireless charging technology is especially challenging in this regard, as they are breaking a new, uncharted territory, which took almost seven years of trial and error to get there. International programmes for startups helped them to boost their product and find ways on how to enter new markets.
“Deep-tech projects are always more challenging, as they require more energy, time, alternative approaches, deep analysis and strong leadership to keep them on the course. It is much easier to improve a product or existing technology, but it is much more difficult to create a disruptive technology and technological product from scratch. We know for certain that in order to create a new disruptive technology, we need to question everything that already exists today”, – says Ruslana Dovzhyk.
Scale up Champions provided them the opportunity to get valuable advice on how to improve their product. The Investment Readiness Programme was a good chance to create the finance strategy and become attractive for investors. In Market Discover Tours the startup built up the network in Spain and Denmark. Ruslana Dovzhyk is happy that they collaborated with a strong team of advisors and potential partners who helped them to find needful contacts in new markets.
Can fend off any technical and technological issues
She has no doubt that you must research your field in depth. Merely browsing the internet won’t do: you must study the work of Nobel laureates, scientists, practitioners and theorists and, most importantly, experiment as much as you can in practice, expanding your understanding of the technology step by step.
Many companies and universities have been working on power transmission technologies for more than 15 years and there is still no solution on the market.
“Our invention has two important sides: the scientific and the business side. On the scientific side of things, the experts want to understand how the technology works. However, it is fundamental for the business side, that the product is technologically advanced and efficient enough to meet our customers’ expectations so as to allow our company to occupy a more competitive position in the market. That is, for business, the results are more important. And that's what we can provide. We have advisors—professors with whom we collaborate, who have helped us and are helping us to this day. Those professors who know the uniqueness of our technology can fend off any technical and technological issues”, – says co-founder of the startup.
Gal environmentally friendly technology: no emissions and heat
This innovative technology is able to charge low-power and high-power devices with an efficiency of up to 95% and at a distance of up to 0.5 m without wires. The uniqueness of the technology is that we do not transfer energy through a magnetic or electric field, and so our product generates no emissions or heat.
“Our technology makes it possible to transmit energy in a targeted manner. And, believe me, no other company in the world will be able to demonstrate to you what we have accomplished. Most importantly, our technology has successfully passed safety tests (see https://www.il-pib.pl/pl/), which have confirmed the possibility of commercializing it. And this is the key”, – says Igor Lykhovyi, Head of R&D.
According to him, since they can see different technologies on the market, many startups are working on improving existing methods of energy transfer. But the difficulty lies in meeting safety standards and, accordingly, the impossibility of commercializing technologies that fail to meet these standards. Moreover, Technovator has a working prototype that the team can use to demonstrate our technology as well as prove its uniqueness.
“Thus, when it comes to consumer electronics, we can create a charging table on which it will be possible to simultaneously and wirelessly charge various devices, such as laptops, smartphones, computer mice and keyboards, etc. Furthermore, users will be able to freely use these devices as they are being charged”, – reveals Arkadii Romanenko, CTO of Technovator.
According to him, Tehnovator can offer a solution that is able to charge drones without wires and without requiring a battery replacement. As a result, thanks to this solution, drones will be able to operate 24/7 without human assistance and become completely autonomous.
Important for health industry and saving lives
When it comes to medical devices and human active implants, they are ready to create a solution by introducing technology, for example, into a cardiac pacemaker, which would save patients from repeated heart surgeries. Doing so is an important goal for us at the moment, since it would allow our technology to help all of humanity.
Ruslana Dovzhyk says that the team is currently working on marketing strategies and looking for partners to cooperate with.
“We are very grateful to NCBR who believed in our team and our project, providing funding for the implementation of technology in the first product. We are also grateful to Scale-up Champions and Poznan Science Technology Park. The latter held a number of training sessions and Investment Readiness Programs with us, helping us improve our presentation skills and better understand the expectations of investors and potential partners”, – says Ruslana Dovzhyk.
According to her, by organising Market Discover Tours events in Europe, the startup had the opportunity to present their innovation and build up a stronger network. Poznan Science Technology Park also gave them the opportunity to discover new markets such as Spain, Denmark and others. Ruslana Dovzhyk is happy that they have a strong team of advisors and potential partners in these markets and we believe that innovative products with our technology will reach the market in the near future.
The team thinks that success means always looking past the excuses and misconceptions. Success is the result of determination and concentration in the due course of hard work and dedication of the whole team behind a drive to make it happen.
