IND_04Teltonika is looking for outstanding ideas for creating a parole electronic monitoring system as an alternative of people in prison.

PROBLEM IN ONE SENTENCE: 

90% of imprisoning cost can be saved by using electronic monitoring system for prisoners. 

HOW BIG IS THE PROBLEM: 

For example, France calculated that averaging imprisoning costs 110-120 EUR per day per Person, not calculating indirect effects of social contacts impact of people in jail for the future coming back to the society. Electronic tags for prisoners can reduce these costs to 10 EUR per day and lower, also social contacts between prisoners would be avoided.   

WHOSE PROBLEM IS IT: Who are affected by that problem in your organisation? Outside your organisation (clients, partners, suppliers, community, etc)?

Our society would benefit directly by reducing cost of imprisoning, indirectly society will benefit of people getting back easier to community without criminal connections. 

POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS: 

Today there are ankle/wrist IOT devices designed to track a person and ensure parole. Challenges developing this product for our clients and partners is limitations on battery lifetime, security and safety of devices.

POSSIBLE LIMITATIONS: 

There is already market for ankle/wrist devices, still limitations occur on freedom to operate and patents restrictions for long lasting battery solutions and connections security decisions.
